There are four ways to participate in Palo Alto World Music Day:

SPECTATORS: Stroll along scenic downtown Palo Alto University Avenue to discover a wide variety of artists performing on street corners. |

PERFORM! All musicians from Palo Alto and the surrounding Bay Area whether amateur, professional or school children, are encouraged to perform. All musical genres are welcome: pop music, jazz, classical, opera, latin, music from different countries and cultures, choirs, etc. |

Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to help us organize the World Music
Day event.
Volunteers to help us plan
World Music Day in 2011. We have the following
opportunities:
Webmaster. Updates this web site
from time to time.
Publicist & Outreach Coordinator.
In charge of Public Relations. Also publicizes the event on-line,
within the Palo Alto community, and in neighboring cities. reaches
out to local organizations.
Graphic Designer. Designs marketing
collateral: flyers, posters, banners, print and on-line ads.
Volunteer Coordinator. Recruits
volunteers for the day of the event and manages them.
Volunteers for June 20,
2010. We have the following opportunities for 1h30
shifts in the afternoon, during the event:
Musician Coordinators. Welcome
musicians; direct them to their assigned locations. Keep an eye on
public safety. Distribute programs. Occasionally poll the
public on the event.
Volunteer Coordinators. Stay at
official event table on Lytton Plaza. Check volunteers in and out.
Direct them to their assigned locations. Operate as communications
center. Distribute programs. Respond to questions from the
public and musicians.
Program Distributors. Distribute
programs of the event to the public downtown.
Videographers. Take digital video
of highlights of the event. Put them on YouTube.
Photographers. Take digital
pictures of the event to put on the web site.
